    Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) attempted a merger with Renault, but the deal was abandoned due to concerns from the French government and Nissan. FCA then successfully approached Peugeot S.A. (PSA) for a merger.

    The European Commission approved the FCA-PSA merger with minor remedies for ensuring competition.

  • Merger Completion

    The merger between FCA and PSA was approved by shareholders, completed, and the company renamed to Stellantis N.V. Carlos Tavares was appointed as the first CEO and shares began trading on various stock exchanges.
